Drill press chucks don't unscrew. They use tapers.

What kind of drill press is this? Most imported benchtop and some floor standing models have a Jacobs 33 taper machined onto the end of the spindle.

It definitly has a JT33 if it's one of those 8" benchtop imports.

I had an old press once that the chuck went bad on and I just phoned the LOCAL hardware store with the information I had on the press and they ordered one for it. Most of the tapers are a standard size, you can measure the taper angle and length then refer to Machinerys Handbook for details if you wish.
