I thought I needed one for my Super XL a couple of weeks ago. I took it off the saw, to take it with me to the parts store and noticed when I took the spark plug wire out of the coil, the wire looked rough. The wire kind of screws down into the coil. I cut about 1/2" off the wire and screwed it back down into the coil, reassembled and fired that sucker up. Almost spent 40 bucks on a coil I didn't need.

Yours may be bad, but take a look at the wire just in case. I got lucky and found the problem before I spent the money.

Sam from Jawja.

If you can't find a local dealer, try Fish at [email protected]. He was able to set me up with all sorts of odd parts for a 30 year old Homelite demolition saw.

Most saw repair shop can get one aftermarket. Ask if they deal with a catalog called Sunbelt. Just put in 2 myself.
