How does it feel to LIE to your little Children when you say ((( Santa Brought you a Present )))

and when they grow up -- they will realize that they have been lied to -- and do the same thing all over again to their little ones ////////

Move the N letter to the end = in the Middle of Santa -- and you have SATAN .....

PeteTx: ( thanks for sending the Verses) I did read what you sent, and have known the verses and MORE --- the problem your having is that you haven't took under consideration Rev. 3: 15 & 16

you see -- if you let just some of your thinking to allow wrong doing,,, your going to fall very deep into Sin, as in Lukewarm..

you have to go one way or another ( all the way ) in order to be approved unto God

Thanks again for your interest... now keep studying the Word and follow the Narrow Path.

joe i cant help but feel sorry for you i realy think you missed something in you life growing up or that you had something bad happen to you were you molested as a child did your dad beat you bad i know a man who told me a story about how his dad would beat him and his brothers till they would wet or crap in there pants i cant help but wander if something like this happened to you and your question was about lieing to your kids the way i read it's not realy about god at all so i take it that you dont lie at all to any one at all. hum some how i find it hard to beleave now most of us are honest people and dont lie to our kidds or family most dont even lie to freinds or starangers and i realy dont look at telling my kidds santa brought presents as a lie more like it is a tradition and i think kidds enjoy a time when they get presents and learn that it feels good to get them but it feels better to give someone a gift that comes from your heart doesnt matter what it costs or how big it is

To answer your question, NO I was NOT mistreated -- I had a religious up bringing -- and you talk about mans Traditions, if you have a Bible, read Colossians 2: 8 and that will give you your answer, although it may not sink in you until you are a Believer -- please don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for them that follow the Evil World...

Lying to kids about Santa may be wrong? I won't judge. I don't think, however, that fostering this myth to young children is as bad as promoting the MYTH of "manmade global warming", or that homos3xuality is "OK" as is done by our tax supported public schools. Mr. Bob

You have a good point, It is a Myth to say it's Man Made Global Warming, Global Warming is made natural, The Earth Started out Warm when Adam was made, and it will end up Warm..... To be Gay is Against God, and HE will condemn the Gay and those who say it's OK. Lying to anyone at any time is against God, and He will condemn those as well.

Note the actual name....and address if you want to look. Could your "handle" be a lie? Preaching truth is good, but not the only admirable trait by far. Do you have any kids? Do you believe in anything enjoyable other than what you preach to be the Good Lord? There are so many things to be thankful for. Such as my son just returning from a year tour in the sand. I believe the old saying applies with you. Wish in one hand and ---- in the other. In your case maybe the other hand should be wrapped around a pistol grip. If you don't have the means I'm sure many would help you out. You could then be much happier as you could meet your maker sooner. Lest He be the judge of your actions. At least we could get back to talking about tractors! Geez! Lighten up!

Hi BMWguy,

I wondered that about 24 hours ago. My guess is that it had to do with the moderator(s) taking some well deserved time off to celebrate Christmas like the rest of us. I also suspect that it's been allowed to go on because the amount of interest it has sparked is extraordinary, and it has been reasonably civil.

The prohibited topics I've seen be removed from Tool Talk have been ones that have gotten very ugly very quickly. This one seems to have generated a mood of irritated amusement. I think most people are actually enjoying it.

All the best, Stan

Doesn't appear that Joe has converted many to his way of thinking.

In my house, we don't celebrate Christmas. We didn't get together on the 25th. We don't call the season anything that has to do with Christ's birth, because we know that censuses, as Caesar conducted in the season of Jesus' birth, are conducted in the spring, not the dead of winter.

My family DOES get together during the holidays and exchange gifts, and we share a bountiful meal or two...or three. But we don't call it what it isn't, and we don't celebrate December 25th. Nobody came to the house on Thursday, and we went nowhere. And while we do make the young children aware of Santa Claus, we do so primarily because he's nearly unavoidable in our American culture. But we make sure they understand that Santa is a legend, and not a fact...and that flying reindeer are indeed a fantasy.

But then, my family also gets together for cookouts on the Fourth of July and on other occasions throughout the year, without attaching any religious significance to those dates either.

I find the 80/20/2 rule comes to reality all the time in the Christian world, 80% will follow the pagan world -- 20% will say they don't (but do) and 2% OF the 20% will Never follow the world ...

Howdy
You are up to 113 Joe, How long are you going to pretend to be for real? You never answered my question or request to clarify your definition of "JUDGE", if you are "judgmental", you ARE judging, and the Bible says " Judge NOT, lest YE be judged". What I'm doing right now is not right, for I am judging you as some kinda kook, but you are driving a lot of us to saying things we would not normally say if not provoked and judged as liers by a man who must think he is better than all the rest of us. Man is imperfect, that is why Jesus had to come to earth and die on the cross, you would think we might have learned something, but we just keep getting worse. I doubt that anyone is going to be cast into hell because he told a child a story about Santa. As for Satan, just say "Get Thee Behind Me Satan" and dont give him another thought, keeping an open line of communication with the devil is not a good idea.
I would like to apologize to everyone for keeping this subject going, this is my last reply to this subject, Joe was very succesful in going about his work.

I was born and raised a catholic, the Roman Catholic religion is the Biggest Cult in the USA, ( in No Way did they make the Bible, the first Pope came 500 years after Jesus Christ died and risen -- Peter was NEVER a Pope )

Moses started the Old Testament some 10,000 years ago, and the Jews printed the Old Test. some 5000 years ago.

I know all there is to know about the catholics and happy to say -- I have no part in that religion sense I left it in 1960 go to www.biblebelievers.com/jmelton/Catholic.html and learn

Hi sasedivy,

That's true for the New Testament, or you could make a good case for it anyway, based on the usual depiction of Peter (as in Saint Peter, or Simon Peter) as the first Pope. Certainly the early Christian Church, later known as the Catholic Church, had total control over which writings went into what eventually became known as the New Testament.

I'd argue that it's not true of the Old Testament, though. The Old Testament existed in its entirety by about 200 B.C., was used by the Jews as their most holy text, and continued to be used by them after they split from the Christians over their unwillingness to accept Christ as the messiah. So, while it's far fetched to argue that the New Testament isn't entirely the product of the Catholic Church, it seems equally far fetched to argue that the Old Testament is. Pre-Christian Judaism may be the direct ancestor of Christianity, but I've never heard that Catholics are anxious to have it described that way.

All the best, Stan

Stan --- your way off in left feild -- God inspired the Bible through man, man wrote it down, but man had NO Private interpretation what so ever. Moses started it off and others took over -- however today, man changed the Bible, but there are original scripts availabale, the KJV is close to the original.

the Catholics used the KJV up to about 1958 and then printed there own from the KJV and added 7 books of witch craft.

The First Pope could have been Leo 1st. in 440-461 AD, but some say Gregory 1st. was the First Pope in 590-604 AD.

The Catholic Church had NOTHING To do with the writings of the Bible... Matthew - Mark - Luke and John all apostles of Jesus wrote the Gospels, Paul, James and John wrote the Epistles who where apostles of Jesus.

the Catholics evolved in the time of Constantine who was an Emperor of Rome around 313 AD -- the start of the Dark Ages.

Joe, I think Santa Claus is the spirit of Christmas and giving. Just sort of an easy explanation for little kids. Later on you can explain the gift of Jesus from the Father and when they put it all together, WOW! Could you ever take a present from someone and say "I don't like it, I don't want that at all. Actuallyallymaybe you would exercise common courtesy and say "that's just what I wanted, thank you so much."

Jesus is the reason for the season and they need to know that the presents aren't everything I personally don't care where they come from, they need to know what it means to care and give just like the story above, and know what the spirit of the season is about.

So if you switch the letter "G" and "D" around in GOD you would had DOG so now I can't believe in God because he would be a dog? What is your point? This morning I was in church and the Pastor didn't say anything about believing in Santa in fact he asked if Santa was good to everybody! So why don't you take your beliefs and keep them to yourself and don't ruin everybody elses Christmas!!

Hey MN Joe!

I guess it feels pretty good. It sure brought a lot of smiles to their faces! There will plenty of time for the little ones to learn just how cold and cruel this world can be. For now, let"s just allow them to believe in the Disney World of make believe.

I grew up knowing there was no Santa - all of my friends grew up believing in Santa for a few years. I have carefully researched all of our progress in life and, for the life of me, I can"t tell that any of us were affected either way.

It would be interesting, I think, for you and I to sit down and discuss our viewpoints of life and what follows. However, at the end of the day, neither of us will change the other"s convictions and neither of us is really gonna know if we are right or wrong until the show is over - and by that time, it will be too late to change!

In the meantime, I won"t wish you a Merry Christmas, but I will wish you a good 2009 year on the off-chance that you really are serious in your posting and that you are representing your true beliefs. If you are just joshing us, well that would be proof that a little harmless lying can be entertaining!

Joe, I respect what you're saying...but I question your methods. Remember, Jesus himself said that no one comes to him unless the Father sends them. So you can stand on a streetcorner--or sit in front of a computer terminal--and SCREAM UNTIL YOU'RE HOARSE, and unless God touches the hearts of people, you'll only turn more folks away from you than toward Christ.

But if God sends someone to Christ, nothing you can do will turn them away. My advice--and take it for what it's worth, like the advice contained in the Bible itself, it costs nothing--is to live your life in a way that demonstrates your faith...let your works speak for you, rather than your words. I realize that works alone save no one, that we are saved by grace; but faith without works, as James said, is a dead faith.

Remember that not ALL are called to preach; and attempting to do something that's not your calling might be counterproductive. There are a multitide of things one can do to spread the word that don't involve preaching and calling folks sinners.

I applaud what you're saying, but I wonder if you've chosen the most effective form, and forum, for your message.

You need prayer my friend....and to find peace within yourself.

Hi Joe,

How does it feel to break the rules of this forum which clearly prohibit discussion of religion on account of the bad will it generates (read below for examples)?

It's hard to tell whether you're serious or a really clever trouble maker. If you're serious, you might want to think twice about your presentation when people can't tell if you're a sincere member of some particularly mean spirited sect or just trying to stir things up by presenting yourself as a parody of an Old Testament crank.

As long as you just want to rant at me, and wouldn't burn me at the stake if you could, I'm all about you expressing your own opinion---just not here.

Merry Christmas, though, Stan

Good afternoon MN Joe.

At the risk of your comments being misconstrued as condescending, perhaps you should take the time to enlighten everyone as to the nature of your belief structure.

What is, or where do you find support in your core belief, do you participate in any of the major organized religions, if not, what group do you find identity with?

What text do you draw from that you would use to base your conclusions on?

Now I know this is personal, but please, try to be specific!

Joe, I won't judge you, but there is a religion in my town that don't actualy use the tone you came across with, but share the truth thing. My family is grown up now, but I often wonder about telling the truth 100%, and just saying where the gifts come from. Does a kid realy care where the gifts come from? Satun??? I think that is why everyone is condeming you. But we all can think the way we want in this country.

I refuse to let family members give me any gift, as I will return it and send the money to a charity. The gift giving is so far out of line nowdays, and the stores are so happy with our line of thought.

I tell my kids to go help out a neighbor, a shut in, visit a care center, and issues like that. Then remind them they could make themselves feel christmas every day....by giving, and not one red cent trading hands.

My children can't remember much they got for christman years ago. The one they do remember is a very poor family that had some major health issues with their dying child of 18 years. Medical bills had beat them to the ground to say the least, cryed to sleep every night. But they gave my sons some old Avon bottles shaped like cars, nothing inside, wrapped in a brown paper bag. That was probably thirty years ago and they still have those old bottles....

Merry Christmas

After celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior, This is what Christmas
is all about... Better bundle up - the goose bumps will freeze you!! I think I need to
read this every year at Christmas. Pa never had much compassion for the lazy or those who squandered their
means and then never had enough for the necessities. But for those who were
genuinely in need, his heart was as big as all outdoors. It was from him that
I learned the greatest joy in life comes from giving, not from receiving. It was Christmas Eve 1881. I was fifteen years old and feeling like the
world had caved in on me because there just hadn't been enough money to buy
me the rifle that I'd wanted for Christmas. We did the chores early that
night for some reason. I just figured Pa wanted a little extra time so we could
read in the Bible. After supper was over I took my boots off and stretched out in front of
the fireplace and waited for Pa to get down the old Bible. I was still feeling
sorry for myself and, to be honest, I wasn't in much of a mood to read
Scriptures. But Pa didn't get the Bible, instead he bundled up again and
went outside. I couldn't figure it out because we had already done all the
chores. I didn't worry about it long though, I was too busy wallowing in
self-pity. Soon Pa came back in. It was a cold clear night out and there was
ice in his beard. "Come on, Matt," he said. "Bundle up good,
it's cold out tonight." I was really upset then. Not only wasn't I
getting the rifle for Christmas, now Pa was dragging me out in the cold, and
for no earthly reason that I could see. We'd already done all the chores,
and I couldn't think of anything else that needed doing, especially not on a
night like this. But I knew Pa was not very patient at one dragging one's
feet when he'd told them to do something, so I got up and put my boots back
on and got my cap, coat, and mittens. Ma gave me a mysterious smile as I opened
the door to leave the house. Something was up, but I didn't know what.. Outside, I became even more dismayed. There in front of the house was the
work team, already hitched to the big sled. Whatever it was we were going to do
wasn't going to be a short, quick, little job. I could tell. We never
hitched up this sled unless we were going to haul a big load. Pa was already up
on the seat, reins in hand. I reluctantly climbed up beside him. The cold was
already biting at me. I wasn't happy. When I was on, Pa pulled the sled around the house and stopped in front of the woodshed. He got off and I
followed. "I think we'll put on the high sideboards," he said. "Here, help me." The high sideboards! It had been a bigger job than
I wanted to do with just the low sideboards on, but whatever it was we were
going to do would be a lot bigger with the high side boards on. After we had exchanged the sideboards, Pa went into the woodshed and came
out with an armload of wood - the wood I'd spent all summer hauling down
from the mountain, and then all Fall sawing into blocks and splitting. What was
he doing? Finally I said something. "Pa," I asked, "what are
you doing?" You been by the Widow Jensen's lately?" he asked. The
Widow Jensen lived about two miles down the road. Her husband had died a year
or so before and left her with three children, the oldest being eight. Sure,
I'd been by, but so what? Yeah," I said, "Why?" "I rode by just today," Pa said. "Little Jakey was out
digging around in the woodpile trying to find a few chips. They're out of
wood, Matt." That was all he said and then he turned and went back into the woodshed for another armload of wood. I followed him. We loaded the sled so
high that I began to wonder if the horses would be able to pull it. Finally, Pa
called a halt to our loading, then we went to the smoke house and Pa took down a
big ham and a side of bacon. He handed them to me and told me to put them in
the sled and wait. When he returned he was carrying a sack of flour over his r
ight shoulder and a smaller sack of something in his left hand. "What's
in the little sack?" I asked. Shoes, they're out of shoes. Little
Jakey just had gunny sacks wrapped around his feet when he was out in the
woodpile this morning. I got the children a little candy too. It just
wouldn't be Christmas without a little candy." We rode the two miles to Widow Jensen's pretty much in silence. I
tried to think through what Pa was doing. We didn't have much by worldly
standards. Of course, we did have a big woodpile, though most of what was left
now was still in the form of logs that I would have to saw into blocks and split
before we could use it. We also had meat and flour, so we could spare that, but
I knew we didn't have any money, so why was Pa buying them shoes and candy? Really, why was he doing any of this? Widow Jensen had closer neighbors than
us; it shouldn't have been our concern. We came in from the blind side of the Jensen house and unloaded the wood
as quietly as possible, then we took the meat and flour and shoes to the door. We knocked. The door opened a crack and a timid voice said, "Who is
it?" "Lucas Miles, Ma'am, and my son, Matt, could we come in for
a bit?" Widow Jensen opened the door and let us in. She had a blanket wrapped
around her shoulders. The children were wrapped in another and were sitting in
front of the fireplace by a very small fire that hardly gave off any heat at
all. Widow Jensen fumbled with a match and finally lit the lamp. "We brought you a few things, Ma'am," Pa said and set down
the sack of flour. I put the meat on the table. Then Pa handed her the sack
that had the shoes in it. She opened it hesitantly and took the shoes out one
pair at a time. There was a pair for her and one for each of the children -
sturdy shoes, the best, shoes that would last. I watched her carefully. She
bit her lower lip to keep it from trembling and then tears filled her eyes and
started running down her cheeks. She looked up at Pa like she wanted to say something, but it wouldn't come out. "We brought a load of wood too, Ma'am," Pa said. He turned
to me and said, "Matt, go bring in enough to last awhile. Let's get
that fire up to size and heat this place up." I wasn't the same person
when I went back out to bring in the wood. I had a big lump in my throat and
as mu ch as I hate to admit it, there were tears in my eyes too. In my mind I
kept seeing those three kids huddled around the fireplace and their mother
standing there with tears running down her cheeks with so much gratitude in her
heart that she couldn't speak. My heart swelled within me and a joy that I'd never known before,
filled my soul. I had given at Christmas many times before, but never when it
had made so much difference. I could see we were literally saving the lives of
these people. I soon had the fire blazing and everyone's spirits soared. The kids
started giggling when Pa handed them each a piece of candy and Widow Jensen
looked on with a smile that probably hadn't crossed her face for a long
time. She finally turned to us. "God bless you," she said. "I
know the Lord has sent you. The children and I have been praying that he would
send one of his angels to spare us." In spite of myself, the lump returned to my throat and the tears welled up
in my eyes again. I'd never thought of Pa in those exact terms before, but
after Widow Jensen mentioned it I could see that it was probably true. I was
sure that a better man than Pa had never walked the earth. I started
remembering all the times he had gone out of his way for Ma and me, and many
others. The list seemed endless as I thought on it. Pa insisted that everyone try on the shoes before we left. I was amazed
when they all fit and I wondered how he had known what sizes to get. Then I
guessed that if he was on an errand for the Lord that the Lord would make sure
he got the right sizes. Tears were running down Widow Jensen's face again when we stood up to
leave. Pa took each of the kids in his big arms and gave them a hug. They clung
to him and didn't want us to go. I could see that they missed their Pa,
and I was glad that I still had mine. At the door Pa turned to Widow Jensen and said, "The Mrs. wanted me
to invite you and the children over for Christmas dinner tomorrow. The turkey
will be more than the three of us can eat, and a man can get cantankerous if he
has to eat turkey for too many meals. We'll be by to get you about eleven. It'll be nice to have some little ones around again. Matt, here, hasn't
been little for quite a spell." I was the youngest. My two brothers and
two sisters had all married and had moved away. Widow Jensen nodded and said, "Thank you, Brother Miles. I don't
have to say, May the Lord bless you, I know for certain that He will." Out on the sled I felt a warmth that came from deep within and I
didn't even notice the cold. When we had gone a ways, Pa turned to me and
said, "Matt, I want you to know something. Your ma and me have been
tucking a little money away here and there all year so we could buy that rifle
for you, but we didn't have quite enough. Then yesterday a man who owed me a
little money from years back came by to make things square. Your ma and me were
real excited, thinking that now we could get you that rifle, and I started into
town this morning to do just that, but on the way I saw little Jakey out
scratching in the woodpile with his feet wrapped in those gunny sacks and I knew
what I had to do. Son, I spent the money for shoes and a little candy for
those children. I hope you understand." I understood, and my eyes became wet with tears again. I understood very
well, and I was so glad Pa had done it. Now the rifle seemed very low on my
list of priorities. Pa had given me a lot more. He had given me the look on
Widow Jensen's face and the radiant smiles of her three children. For the rest of my life, whenever I saw any of the Jensens, or split a
block of wood, I remembered, and remembering brought back that same joy I felt
riding home beside Pa that night. Pa had given me much more than a rifle that
night, he had given me the best Christmas of my life. Don't be too busy today. Share this inspiring message. God bless
you!

Santa Claus/St. Nick was an actual person. My son is past in age the Santa idea, now he knows its the blessings of God that enables us to give gifts on Christmas.

Now they say the actual Christmas day is sometime in the summer????? Yikesss

I'm not Catholic, but alot of people are, does that make them fiction? And I do enjoy what I have. The kids will get a dose of real life soon enough. Do you have any documentation to your claim that St. Nicholas was made up/invented by the Catholics? There is plenty to document who he was and what he done.

You must be a very miserable and twisted soul, to express such nonsense as you have.
Why even bother to try and impress all, with your feeble attempts to try and hump your neighbor's dog ???
You might still try and salvage your small dignity though, the only honorable thing left for you to do is this, stick that ole double barrell in your mouth, in order to end your propoganda campaign on Christmas day.
Will we will miss you ??? ..... .....NO !!!!

I do not feel that I am fit to judge anyone, but it seems that you are qualified to judge most everyone. If your religion says it is OK to drive a group of people to anger than perhaps you might enjoy one of those religions where you sit on a sand pile with an automatic weapon and shoot everyone that does not agree with you.
Merry Christmas

Please Clarify !!! Is it not Judging a man to tell him that he lies? And you my friend do not know the meaning of "PEACE ON EARTH, GOOD WILL TO MEN".
Also would you feel better if you stood in front of a child on Christmas day and proclaimed to him that you are the one who worked hard all year and scrimped and saved so YOU could buy him presents even though his mother had to do without? I'm sure the child would rather hear the LIE than to know his mom didn't get the new stove she needs so badly. Please consider others before you get up on the soap box and preach HELLFIRE AND DAMNATION. Remember that the Bible wasn't printed nor do churches exist for the good and rightious for they have no need, we the sinners and LIERS are the reason there exists a Holy Bible and churches and organized religions

I always thought the real Santa was a Christian. You know - Saint Nickolas - the kids called him Santa Clause. He brought gifts to the children at Christmas to remind them of the greatest gift of Christ. Just remember - Christ died to save the people who tell their kids to believe in Santa - just like he died to save the people that might judge them.
