I inherited a JD pressure washer model A22, it does not work as there is no electric motor. The pressure pump is a model 8 BTC Baron. The decal says it uses a 1 hp electric motor. It seems that water enters a bowl with a float shutoff, from there it goes to the twin cylander pump. Detergent also enters the pump from another connection that has an electrical switch. My question is are these things worth fixing? I will need a motor, some hoses and a spray nozzle. Also does anyone know the size of the pulley on the motor? Thanks MC Herb 9N kelowna BC

I have one of those A22 pressure washers. They are quite old by now. Probably from the 1970's? The company that makes the pump is still around or at least was 10 years ago. It is difficult to get parts from Deere an more. I needed a part for the wand and it was no longer available but fortunately the parts locator found a part in stock at a dealer so I was able to get the part. I was able to get all the parts I needed for the pump from Deere 10 years ago. Cheaper than trying to buy from the company that made the pump.

Probably would be better to spend the time and money on a new pressure washer. Want to buy mine?

Gene, thanks for the parts address, Bruce the pump is a Britt Tech from Iowa, Craig thanks for the info. I have decided to try the pump by running off a 6hp B&S gas motor I have. If the pump works I can get a hose and wand and connect the detergent bottle without the electrical switch. Am I correct in assuming the pump runs slower the the drive motor, about 1/2 speed I would guess. Thanks for the input. MC Herb 9N

Northern Tool C, .Com. has a very good stock of parts, and are not too outrageously priced. Gene Davis
