Flux core wires?

I am setting up a marine mobile mig welder. In a attempt to travel as light as possible, and not have too many compressed cylinders on the boat, I would like to use as many flux cored wires as possible. I have only used mild steel wire thus far and would appreciate any info involving other types of steel, (stainless steel, cast iron). Does flux core aluminium wire exist?

Dean, the best place to find those answers is from your local welding supply store. Not talking about a hardware store that sells a few rods, but a store that specializes in welding. Those guys will know everything you want to know or will find out for you. I been welding for 25 years and there is still stuff I dont know, I ask questions all the time and no one at the airgas store has ever given me a bad time. They want my business.
