Considering roofing options for my 20'x15' tractor shed.

Anyone have experience or opinions re: Ondura corrugated roofing ? Its kind of a asphalt composite with a resin coating. Comes in 4x6 sheets $12/sheet

Do like F14 and use the metal and forget it.

I've seen some done with the material you speak of. Unless the perlins are mighty close, it looks like the ocean after a hot summer.

Just built a new barn. Spent considerable time researching alternatives for the roof. Settled on metal. 29 gauge, finish guaranteed for 25 years, comes in 3' widths and cut to length specified. One sheet from peak to eave, no seams. Goes up in half the time of a traditional asphalt shingle over plywood decking roof. 2 of us completely roofed a 20x32 building with a 5/12 roof, starting from bare rafters, in 14 hours.

Figuring all materials (again, starting with bare rafters) traditional shingle roof worked out to roughly $85 a square, metal came to $98.

Between the time saved putting it up, and the fact that I don't expect to ever have to fool with it again in my lifetime, it was the right choice for me.

I once used a product called Onduline which was a corrugated asphalt roofing with a paint surface. Similar size. It's still on the building but I'd never use it again. Major problem was the color-coordinated nails they sold with it had barbs but not sufficient to hold the roofing tight through the many expansion cycles. Result was numerous leaks around the nails. I've been re-pounding them for years. Screws with a neoprene washer would maybe solve the problem. There's a lot of "up" force when the sun hits the surface. I had the Onduline painted this past year to extend the lifespan ($200 worth of paint). Silicone around the enlarged nail holes.

My new building is getting a copper standing seam roof. A little more up front but it's install it and forget it. The material costs extra (3 times) but the labor's close to the same. I'm old enough to not to want to do it again, ever. You make your own call. I'd go for aluminum sheets over asphalt.
