Advice Appreciated. I have a sickle bar where the PTO shaft doesn't telescope anymore. It's the square stock. I had the implement mounted with the shaft loose and a come-a-long on the end of the PTO running under the tractor and hooked to the front of the tractor. I put considerable tension on the PTO and rapped on it for 15 min. with a hammer. I would heat but it has the PTO shaft cover in place. Any ideas? Thanks

I had that happen to me and I chained one end to a tree and the other to my tractor and it came right out. I had pounded on it and used the come along to no avail for about a half hour

If the safety gaurd is metal, you might be able to heat it enough to soften the grease a little. If you kept tension on it, I don't think it would take much heat. Could be wrong. Good luck.

You might try using a slide hammer chained up to the yoke first, if that won't work I'd take the cover off and give it a little heat.

I had one stuck like that last year on a fertilizer spreader..

I tried everything, finally used a slide hammer, but it still didn't budge until I heated it up a little and melted some of the old hardened grease inside.
