Roy If your looking for a legitimate oil additive with Teflon check out Tufoil at www.tufoil.com. Its a patented and government tested product that I have personally used to cure premature wear and noise problems in transmissons, differentials, motors and transfer cases and I swear by it. Good Luck Dieseldog!

Roy, I have read numerous articles on Slick50 and similar products. At first, all the article were negative, very negative. Then, after a couple of years, they have progressed to the point where only half of the articles are negative.

My personal opinion: Someone gave me a quart of slick50 about 5 years ago. It's still here, want it? Same goes for the rest of the additives. The only innovation that I am a believer in regarding oil is synthetics. And even then, there is a bundle of opinions that say I am wasting money.

I agree with Mike, I was talking to a chemist from the Mobile Oil Co. and I think he said it best. The major oil companies spend millions on research and if these miracle additives were as great as the salesmen make them out to be, the oil companies would have that product or a similar product already in the oil they sell.

It has been my experience, especially with old tractors, that any oil sold today is still better than the stuff they used in them when they were new. My opinion is buy the best oil you can find and use the best filters, and you can't go wrong.(ps, I've had two oil distributors tell me that Castrol GTX is the best on the market for gas engines. These dealers did not sell castrol. Quite a testimonial, eh?

Tried Slick 50 in a 77 ford 460, rear main started leaking almost immediately, finances kept me from fixing it and after about a year and several oil changes without Slick 50 the leak finaly stopped by it's self. Havent used it si

In ref. to a comment on synthetic oils. I took an old B&S motor (sat for 20+ yrs checked the oil it was dirty but oil anyway. Put in gas and it fired right up. Drained it put in regular 20/w and it was fine. Drained it and added 20W MOBIL #1 and it immediately poured out pass the crankshaft seal. Went back to regular 20W and no more problem "ever". You be the judge . I dont think old iron and old seals are compatable with synthetic oils.

I tested Bi-Tron and many other product on a cross-axis machine over a two month period. There is nothing to compare to Bi-Tron. their are a lot of good products out there, but I find Bi-Tron to be the best. Everyone that I know using it has gotten more than 20% increase in fuel economy and all the other benefits stated in the literature.
We have had an incident, where a head gasket let go - antifreeze into the crankcase - and did not damage the engine! check out a site I visited just before yours ->Link
