Thanks guys, the information is very helpful. I enjoy fabrication, but was also unaware that you could collapse a deck. This is just what I was looking for. Thanks again... Dagger

Ditto what T_Bone said except go with 1" rod and use fine thread if you can find some. Also get some steel bars about 1" thick, 2-3" wide and 8-10" long to place under the puller legs or pipe and arrange them to spread the load. This will protect the deck from damage. Shoving the puller through the deck will ruin one's day and cost you many times hiring out the sleeve removal.

Hi Dagger,

You ever considered making your own?

I would use a 1/2" plate cut to inside and outside deminsions with bore clearance on the bottom of the sleave, drill a 1/2" hole in the center, add a piece of 1/2" all thread, Find a piece of pipe to fit the outside of the sleeve on the block side long enough to pull the sleave, another piece of 1/2" for a end cap, run the 1/2" allthread thru the hole, nut and flat washer, take a impact on the rod nut and pull the sleeve.

Never tired it but it should work.

If the sleeve was rusted then maybe a 3/4" allthread would have to be used.
