I have bought some tools from both these comapnies and I have to say that SOME of what trhey sell is pretty good quality. In particular the PITTSBURGH brand wrenches from Harbor Freight. They are pretty heavy and pretty tough at a fraction of the price of Craftsman or Husky. Now I know that some will say that these tools are made in Mexico or China but....After years of thnking about this, If I can help keep some guy working and feeding his family in HIS OWN COUNTRY and not in mine, why not??? Maybe that will keep him out of my welfare programs and ultimately my pocketbook. Especially in the wake of what has happened to my country. I am a US Marine and I LOVE the USA. I used to believe that made in USA was the only thing to buy, but now I want these foreigners out. Lets keep them working in Taiwan or Korea or Mexico, buy their products if it is quality. If it isn't dont buy it. If I offended anyone, email me. I will give you my address and a map to my house.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But that's about the most stupid reasoning I've ever heard. Why don't you just write a check every week and send it straight to those rip-off jerks.

Send address & map.

Greetings:

Maybe my thinking is off, but I think buying so much foreign oil may be causing more problems than buying foreign-made goods. Every dollar we spend on middle east, south american, or african oil is one less dollar in the US and one more dollar to support troubled spots. I guess if every barrel of purchased foreign oil were used in a productive manner to make the US stronger, we would be fine. I doubt that is the case. Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

I agree Douglas, now if we can stop shipping 80pct. of the Alaskan crude production to Japan---.

You won't get any argument from me, Keith. I work in an industry that is heavily dependent on overseas customers, i.e. we export a LOT. If they are gonna buy our stuff because it is the best value, I don't mind buying their stuff if it is the best value. I don't want to be buying products made with slave labor, but that stuff isn't very high quality, so I'm not likely to want it anyway. But made in Singapore, Taiwan, Phillipines, India, etc? If it's as good as the same product made at higher price here, I'll line the pockets of the foreign executives just as willingly as the pockets of U.S. executives.

It's a tough call, but if we don't buy foreign goods, they won't have the money to buy ours. But I agree to some extend that we are leaving ourselves vulnerable - our textile industry doesn't exist anymore so if China ever gets really mad at us, we are all going to be walking around naked in a short period of time. The world is getting smaller and if all the inhabitants of the world don't share in some of it's bounty, we are going to continue to have people jealous of us and hate us - like Osama and his crew. I guess I would rather buy their goods and make them work for what they get than try to make a welfare state out of the less fortunate areas of the world - we couldn't afford it and it would just make the problem worse over time just like it did in our own country.
