Had to mention the Craftsman line. Had a 1/2 inch drive ratchet I lost off the tractor while mnowing hay 3 years ago. Looked up and down the field but couldn't find it. This fall while discing up the old ground I found it. It has only surface rust in a few places on it, especially where it has been nicked while using it. The ratchet head was stuck at first but when I put some pressure on it with a wrench it started working again. Took it apart and it is basically good as new. Was surprised it didn't get more rusty laying in the field and getting run over by numerous equipment over the years. Gotta say I'm impressed.

Sounds like the time I lost my 1/2" Craftsman wrench and proceeded to plow it into my gravel driveway with the blade. Turned up a year later with no rust/damage whatsoever!

I am a powerlineman by trade last year i was working on a powerline that had been installed in the early sixties.
we were pulling an old pole out and installing a new one in the same location had to dig with a backhoe to get the proper depth I noticed a rachet wrench in the dirt.It had to have been there since the line was installed.
cleaned it up a little and soaked it in a solvent tank overnight . No chrome left ...ugly as sin but it still works like new GO CRAFTSMAN !!!!
