Some of you asked for an update on the saw. Well I got to use it this weekend and I was very impressed with it. It's like using a miter saw only it's on metal. No sparks and very little burrs and no heat. With that said I love it.
Hopes this helps.
Marvin

Hey Marvin - like I said - a long time ago. You are going to love it. However, keep in mind the some what expensive blades can be resharpened a number of times! Relax & cut away!!

Great news that you liked it, but could you tell us what you cut with it? Some of us (mainly me) questioned its ability to cut heavier steel that I usually work with. What do you feel its capabilities/limitations would be? again, I cut iron up to 1", drill stem (surplus oil field) pipe which is up to 1/4" thick walled depending on how rusted it is, and 3/4 sucker rod, flats, angles, making pipe fencing, corrals, gates, loading chutes etc etc etc. How long would this carbide blade stand up to that? 125 seems pretty darn high for a replacement blade....my DeWalt abrasive chop saw cost 199 new and has lasted for two years now and going strong. The one before that was Makita and lasted 4 years till the housing and frame was worn out (motor still ran).

H M. I cut some sq.tubing and some 3/4 cold rolled round. The sq. tubing was only 1/8" wall but was 1x2 & 1x1 no problem. Like I said no heat and no burrs.
