Hey T_Bone, welcome back. Maybe someone else noted your return. If so, I missed it, but we all missed your sage advice and a number have said so over the last few months.

Welcome back T Bone! Tell us more about your trip. And are you sure you want to replace a Power Wagon with something newfangled? I guess you are as you have done it. Anyway, good to see you back on the list.

Tom

Hi Tom,

Well it was time after 25yrs I needed a different type truck. Can you say diesel? lol
I could either pay the oil companys to drive the PW another 25yrs or pay Ford and let the oil companys pay me. Now if I can get this Ford to last as long as the Dodge.

I did forget to mention that I went to Forsyth,Mt to a Black Powder Cartridge Shoot. I had a ball but couldn't finish because of health problems. Maybe next year!

I did get to fish a couple times and caught some nice ones. A Brookie that was 14.75" and a rainbow that weighed 3lbs another 2lbs.

I did go with solar this year and that really worked out well. No more generators for me!

A black powder shoot! That sounds like a good time. I haven't gotten into back powder-yet. I think it will have to wait for retirement, which with the way the market is lately may still be a while. I seem to be so busy with work and the projects I have that I hardly have time for a few .22 shoots now and then, not to mention some center fire and handloading, never nime black powder. You lucky guy!!

Hi Tom,

Well I don't know if you could call that luck or not. When we showed up for the Quigley it had been raining for awhile. First thing I did was to pull off into a field and high-centered my trailer axle on the center berm. Busted the trailer off and went about 100yds and sunk the PW to the axles. Got the fronts chained up but the mud was too soft to jack the rearend. I was trying not too rutt the Hosts field too much but finally made it to the county road and got the back chained up. Trailer came out easy with chains on.

That was some shoot. About 365 shooters from all over the world. The guy who won, shot 41 of 48 with a trapdoor 45-70! I had to laugh with all of us shooting Sharps 1874's and other rifles. He did have some eagle eyes for sure. No scopes, WP-BP or duplex is allowed, single shot, six targets 220yds to 805yds, eight shots each target.

I'm looking forward to next year.

Thanks glen,

I had a great summer elk watching. We stoped counting at 600 head with in 200yds of camp. Only got to see 2 bulls with 5 points or better. :(

We camp at 9500ft and enjoyed the cool. On July 2 it started raining and rained every day for 45 days straight until we had to leave as the ground was saturated. Had to chain up all fours to leave.
I had the old PowerWagon 25yrs and only chained up four times and two times were this summer. bummer.
I told the wife that the PW knew it was getting replaced this year so it had to leave us with "memories"

Replaced the PW with a 2002, F350, 4wd, crew cab DRW, PSD, 6spd, lwb. I really enjoy the new ride! Going to be fun putting all the goodies on it.
Impressive of how much power the diesel has.
