Does anyone have a bench test to see what the generator is producing, Battery will not charge.I have re-wired the entire system after mice tried to do it for me. They left many shorts in system, so the easiest way to repair was to replace the entire wiring harness. All seems good now. The tractor starts much better with a re-built starter. Before I buy a new generator, though, I thought I would test this one. Thanks in advance.

You can test the generator on the tractor. Disconnect the wires on the generator, start the engine, ground the "F" terminal and check for voltage at the "A" terminal. (or hook a test light between the two terminals, it should light) You can also "motorize" the generator. Loosen the belt and put a jumper wire from the battery to the "A" terminal, it should spin the generator. If you have voltage from the generator, it's either the wiring or the regulator (or cut-out relay). If it has a regulator and you replace it, momentarily jump the "A" terminal on the regulator to the "B" terminal. This polarizes the regulator.
