Was wondering if thin (1/8") cast can be drilled without breaking the unit?

Since you don't say cast what, for either aluminum or iron, first use a center drill, and then use a unibit to give you a round hole. Lard makes an excellent lubricant in either material, for drilling.

Thanks for the tips. It is thin cast iron (an old surface mount door lock).
