Machinable cast iron welding rod?

Another off the wall project, modifing an old air compressor to run as a hit and miss engine. i need to weld up some pockets in the orginal head and machine out ports and valve guides and seats. any suggestions on welding or filler rods?

Certanium makes a very good rod for welding cast. I'm sure Steve from US Alloys has one too.

use acetelene weld cast rod and flux, works better than any arc wire,is very machinable,is color match,and is the same material as the item to repair.when it cools and contracts it has the same contraction rate as the base material, therefore less likely to crack. arc wires all contain some
nickle which when cooling causes terrible
internal stresses due to the increased contraction rate.
