OT dump truck

Need the chain that runs the two sprockets that runs the tarp to cover the bed.
This is a hand crank type and the sprokets look like the type on some bicycles.
Probably close to a 10 ft. length.
What kind of a store can these be bought at????
If the sprokets were replaced with the kind that would use a belt work or would a belt type of dsevise slip???

Did TRY bicycle chain? It does fit some garage door openers, and MAY fit your dohickey. Pretty CHEAP at discount stores.

Hi lenray,

Look at the number on the side of the link as that is the chain number you have or go to McMaster Carr and look it up by deminsions.

Hello fellas Thanks for your thoughts.
All I have is the two sprockets--no chain. Truck came that way..
Was wondering if I replaced the chain sprokets with ones that would use a belt--would that work better???? Or should I continue with the chain setup.

Belts do not deliver much torque or traction at low speed. If you have the sprockets, look for numbers on them. First number is likely the chain size...40-50-60, etc. Second number should be number of teeth. Or count teeth and measure diameter of sprocket, also measure width of teeth. Good dealer or machine shop should be able to figure out what you need, or give you link samples to fit your sprocket.

The one I have is smaller (1 ton dump ) that takes the standard 1/2" bicycle chain.

If you know what # chain is, you can get it at most any "Power transmissions Products place". mcmaster.com
