PVC Plumbing Question

Hi, I have a hot tub that froze last winter and cracked a PVC connection. This hot tub was made by Jacuzzi in the 80"s. I need to cut out the old "t" connection and put a new one in. That"s not such a hard job, but I am not sure what glue to use.

The "t" is PVC schedule 40, but it has 2 connections connected to semi-flexible (1.5") PVC, and the glue used has a different color than the rigid PVC connections. The different color makes me think that this need to be a different glue. I am familiar with the two part, primer and solvent, glue used in regular PVC.

Does anyone know what type of glue to use on the semi-flexible to Schedule 40 PVC?

The rest are right on target, you probably have a product called quest that turned out it landed in a class action law suit if my memory was correct. It was recomended by FHA and I think alot of it leaked or caused cancer. You will never find fittings so take special care. It was origanaly going to be the super sweet plastic to replace soft copper. I kind of think it had a freeze / thau capability. Not sure however.

use a combination cement. it will say pvc/abs/cpvc on the label. clean with pvc primer first and put tee on exhactly where you want it because set up time is really short. hope this helps

Most new melting glues are compatible with several plastics. Just make sure it's compatable with PVC, CPVC and the most popular plastics.
