Any welding supply sponsers of this site

Are there any welding supply dealers that are sponsers here? I'd like to price/purchase an oxy-fuel Victor 'outfit' (propane) and the local welding supply dealers don't want to deal with any of these 'alternative' fuels. There are two supply houses locally here - one doesn't want to deal with anything other than acetylene and the other will order a Victor outfit for $800 plus oxygen tank rental. Are alternative fuel start up medium range outfits that much more expensive than acetylene? I'm interested in two of the Victor 'startup outfits' (Super Range, Super Range II) and have Victor part numbers from their site - just need to find someone who will advise me and sell it to me or give me some real reasons why I shouldn't go this route (other than 'I don't stock anything like that').

Thanks for any help,
Bob

Try www.ramweldingsupply.com. I bought the Victor Super Range outfit (item #VIC0384-0820) The web site has it for $303.99. It includes the 100FC handle, Vanguard flashback arrestors, both regulators, 3 brazing and 1 cutting tip, a rosebud, hose, lighter, and goggles. Just tell them when you order you want some propane tips and they will fix you up. It's a medium duty outfit and will handle almost all farm jobs.

Check with some of your local propane suppliers, some of them may stock welding supplies.
Good Luck,
Dusty

Our company does not sponsor this site Bob. We don't sell gases either. We do sell Victor equipment.

The only difference between the C2H2 outfits and the propane outfits are the tips. The Super Range Deluxe with the Vanguard handle is right at US$800.00 in my Victor book. The Super Range II is around US$550.00 in the book with the Vanguard handle.

If you like, call 1-800-325-1568 and ask for Sharron. Give her your part numbers or ask your questions. She can quote a torch outfit to be shipped direct.

Many thanks for the quick response. It seems in my ignorance I'm comparing apples and arrdvarks. I've looked at the $179.95 Victor torches available at the discount houses and assumed they were all about the same except for the hose grade. Looks like a little more research to see what I can afford rather than what I want, and then I'll make the call.

thx again,
Bob
