Anybody know where I might be able to get parts for this welder? I went to use it Saturday and it started smoking. I opened it up and the only thing I saw that may be wrong was a box about half way down the right side looked to be leaking something. Any information would be helpful.

Probaby a capacitor. Do a web search for Forney Welders. They sold a million of them in farm country so spare parts ought to be available. I still see their rods and consumables for sale.

Most of you probably know this already but I figured it wouldnt hurt to mention it again. Be careful messing with capacitors as they can still hold current even if the machine is not plugged in turned on.

Is there a way to discharge the capacitor before I take it out of the welder?
