When my Dad died I cleaned out his shop geting ready to sell the place. I came across a nearly empty can of Kroil. I threw it in a box with some other things and took it home. I really got to love the stuff. It didn't last long. It's been 5 years and I can't find Kroil anywhere here in Iowa. Is there a "modern" substitute for it? Where do I get more?

Newer thread about a half page up from this one ways 50/50 mix of acetone and automatic tranny fluid is even better- and sure would be cheaper!

Best stuff on the market that Kroil.I found out about it 20 years ago working in power plants all over the U.S. I just recieved 2gal of kroil and a 1gal of exorust. It sucks watching it go up in price but you cant beat it. Just go on line to order form it will give you the prices

My Son Works For Cat & Used to tear down engines that they brought in for reman, & They sprayed down entire engine with it before tearing it down, they bought it in 55 gal. drums. I kept it all the time in my toolbox when i ran a printing press, freed up adjustment bolts etc.in offset printing units. Our storeroom kept it on hand.

It's made by Kano Labratories in Nashville,Tenn.
The hands down best penatrating oil I have ever found.Removes lead from gun bores too! Several other products from the company....all outstanding products.

A few restoration specialty shops sell it by the can but you can save if using more of it buying it direct. It's good stuff and I don't care what the naysayers say about price of it they just probably haven't tried and if they did and weren't satisfied there is a money back guarantee so that tells you they never tried it. I like the aerokroil as the silikroil is hard to get all the silicone off later for painting. They have some good aerosol protectant coatings too when storing parts from rust.

cheap skates dont like the price so they never try it.Kano Labs makes more money selling it direct and probably had dealers that refused to handle it because of the higher price.I buy it direct several cans at a time.

Only place in Iowa I have seen it for sale was at a swap meet, and I don't think that vendor lived in Iowa. I think the only place to buy it is on the internet. Google it.
