O/T Patio Door

I have a six foot patio door, it's about ten years old, for the past few months it's harder to open. Seems to be sticking or not gliding as well on the track. The track is clean. Could it be this is worn out or is there some way to fix it. Any suggestions ?

I removed the door, cleaned the wheels and the track, lubed it up and now it works fine.

May not be a problem, but can be in some situations, rough opening of the door, header is sagging, something settled, change the rollers first, most likely the cause, but sometimes things settle and the R.O. changes, and puts pressure on the operating panel.

Harvey, A good glass shop should have "skullcap" just cut to length & tap onto bottom roller track. Work's very well if bottom track is worn.

Mine had a worn out roller. You can usually find replacement rollers at most home centers and hardware stores.
You have to lower the adjustment screws on both sides and lift the door up and out to replace the rollers. Works like a charm with new rollers.
Just don't slam it on your hand after fixing it since it will slide so easy.

Most of the older doors had adjustable screws on the bottom, turn the screws out so you can take the door off the tracks. Then lay it on the side and check the wheels and you will probably find they are so dirty they won't turn. Spray them with WD40 or the like and clean them. Make sure they are loose all dirt out and check for wear.

Most brands have an adjustment screw by each wheel. Should be a removable plug covering the screw.

I don't know how the newer ones work, but the older ones had replacable wheels and were adjustable.
I think you should be able to remove it by lifting it up and taking it out bottom first.
