I was on my granddaddy"s 1952M JD the other day and it poppin right along until it just shut off, and now it refuses to crank. It is getting plenty of gas, but no fire. New coil, new cap, new plugs, new points, and still no fire. Any ideas?

I made sure the battery connections are good, and I ran the hot wire. No go. Haven't found the fuse yet.

the original if i remember right is in a metal holder.in the back of the cast iron steering column, you may have to take the battery out,its kinda tight in there. but the fuse only covers the ignition and maybe the lights. If you ran a hot wire and it still has no spark have you checked to see if the distributor is turning?

There is a inline fuse near thr back of the ignition switch,a frayed wiring harness could have shorted it out, also the ignition switches have been known to fail.you want to run a hot wire to the coil and see if it fires then.If it truely isnt turning over check your battery connections. bill m.
