I put in one new battery last October and buickanddeere is right, the cart was better but not much better. Now I want to replace the rest of the batteries. Would I get good results with just replacing the five old batteries or do I need to bite the bullet and replace all 6 batteries.?

The main problem is the voltage of each battery - nominal and under load. They need to match - otherwise they constantly try to equalize and match each other. New batteries tend to have higher voltage than old.

Sometimes you can mix and match old and new batteries, or different brands - and do fine. Check the voltage of each one first.

I had a battery that got broken, and I replaced the one battery with no ill effects.

When we change out battries at work, we replace them all with a matched set, even if only one cell is bad. If the others in the set are still good we make a set matching date codes and voltages. Mixing new with old or uneven voltages will draw down the new. Jeremy

I would go with the 5, a six month old battery shouldn't be a problem IMO.
