I need reed valves for an Ajax compressor(Rochester, NY, out of bussiness). They are 3/8" wide and 2.5" long. The reed is 2.1"long and 3/8" wide. Any sources?

I saw .010 feeler gauge 12" x 1/2" at WT Tool. $.93. Great place. Half hour drive from me.

My air compressor lost a reed valve about one month after it was new. I made a new one from feeler guage stock. 10 years later and it has never missed a lick.

What these guys forgot to tell you. The gauges you need come in a box about six inches long. They are for machine work. You may need to go to a good machine shop to find them. They will make them for you cause the metal is VERY hard. Drill a couple of holes or what ever. Ten or fifteen bucks but worth it. Jeffcat

Like the other fellow said, feelers guage will work. We have used it in our Pacer air compressor.

Find a place that serviced campbell-hausfeld
compressors, and see if they can match some up.

Hello sherburne.
The size of the valves seems very close to a feeler gauge. You may be able to use one of them if you can get a close match.
Guido.

Sherburne: can't comment on the Ajax specifically, but many people fashion replacement reeds from old bandsaw blades when they can't get the originals.
