I finally got a wheeled gantry set up in my shop and on the way home tonight a friend sold me an electric chain hoist at a great price. I want to set it up so that I can wheel the gantry around the shop and have the 220 wire trail and retract in a way that makes sense both on the sliding dolly overhead and as I wheel the gantry around.I have never set one up before. There is about 2 feet of clearance between the 12ft. ceiling and the 10 ft. gantry. Can someone help me out and maybe direct me to a picture or a site? I don`t need anything elaborate, just something that works. Thanks for your help.

This unit has 45 feet of 12/3 cable. I don't know why you couldn't swap the ends to 240-Volt parts, and 12/3 cable@240 Volts should run a fair-sized hoist.

Better check and see if cord and reel are rated for 300V or more.
