I like to go shopping at my local scrap yard. I have noticed a lot of antique chain saws. Is there anyone that collects them? I just hate to see them crushed then melted. Does anyone Know of a chainsaw site? Are they of any value? I am not looking to make money just save the saws.. John

some of the old mccullouch saws can be worth quite a bit to the right person.parts may be a little hard to find though.there are chainsaw collectors.should be a few websites out there.

You can start your own collection! That's what I'd do.

BTW: Let me know if you ever run across a Homelite XL-9xx chainsaw or XL-88 demo saw. Parts for these are hard to find and I have several.

You can email [email protected], he's a collector, and should be able to help you out on sites for saw collectors.

Try the Antique Small Engine Collectors Club site. People post questions/ads about old chainsaws there fairly often.

There are folks who collect them. You'll see a few among the small engine displays at tractor shows fairly often.

Type "antique chainsaws" in the search box at the Google search engine, you'll hit quite a few sites.
