Hey folks, I know it's been asked a dozen times, but now it's my turn in the barrel. Practicing on my '64 Burb, going to do the Allis B when the grass quits growing for the year. Anyway, what's everyones favorite brand of gas tank deruster/devarnisher and sealer?

Thanks,

Mike

A long time ago I was restoring a car with a rusty fuel tank and was told by a rusty OLD mechanic how to fix it fast and cheap. I used form a gasket No2 and denatured alcohol. I mixed the two until it was very runny and poured it into the tank and sloshed it around to coat the insides. I then left the tank in the sun for a couple of days to let the alcohol evaporate off and cure the form a gasket. Never saw any rust in the fuel filter and as far as I know the car is still running. I haven't tried it myself, but I have seen several folks mention of one of the POR-15 products on the ATIS Cub forum.

You could search the archive there if interested.

Be sure to get sealer that's impervious to alcohol as well as gasoline-
