Hope one of you smart people can tell me the difference between bronze and brass. Also between red brass and white brass. While where at it what is "pot" metal or "white" metal.

Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin.
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc.

Pot metal is a zinc/aluminum alloy. Inter-molecular corrosion will destroy it from the inside out over a period of time.
