Any leads on a "neon" bulb type spark tester for gasoline engines? The type I'm looking for fastens on or lies next to the spark plug wire and flashes if there is a high voltage impulse in the plug wire. My brother told me that Tractor Supply Co. may have such an item. NAPA has apparently quite carrying this tool.

Thanks

YOU,can get a sparkplug made by AC DELCO the part #ST125 ,looks like a sparkplug with an alligator clip to ground to something . This will work with low voltage and high voltage ignition sysem.

Got an inductive timing light? It does the same thing. Mine says Sears on it.

You may find a typical neon, AC tester will work fine.
put an anegator clip on one lead, and let the other one float.

Brings back interesting memories when I was a youngster. Used to make a lamp holder(neon bulbs)from Radio Shack.
6 or 8 cyl.
Hook it under dash. Then run wires thru fire wall around plug wires. Was certainly a conversation piece. You could monitor spark constantly, but really had no purpose.

Almost as much fun as lighting a fluoresent bulb by holding one end when near a radio tower
