Maybe it should be obvious but, I don't quite understand what it means when people say their email is open. I'm still learning and would like to figure this out. I'm stumped. thanks

If you will look down in the right hand corner of a post you will see ...(reply) (e-mail open) or (e-mail closed)..... if it says open click on it an e-mail page will come up for your message...if it says closed you can't send them a e-mail.....

If you fill in the "E-Mail" line on the "Post a Message" or "Add a Reply" form, anyone can send you an email. The nice thing about it is that your actual email address is concealed, so the spammers can't see it.

Since I didn't fill in my email address on this reply, my email is "closed": you can't send me an email, you can only reply on the forum.

OK, so it is just as simple as I thought. I was just wondering because I tried to email someone who told me their email was open and got no reply. thanks

Could be --- their saying that they are receiving email's --- if it said email closed -- that would be the door is closed ...

kind of like when your mouth is open or shut !!!
