Bought used 284 diesel 10 years ago , only have 620 hours on meter . Tough machine , more traction (FWD) than I've ever needed . Only problems have been one battery and one lower radiator hose . Original manual rates it 30 hp . I imagine parts availability will be problem going forward . If I were buying now I'd look for a newer machine , unless price was real lowwwww www .

They are a tough little bugger. I "think" they are about 28 horse?

Think of it as a "utility" H with 8 gears and live hydraulics. PTO is not live.

That finish mower that they put under 'em is just that. A "finish" mower; not much good for anything else.

The only thing that I don't like is that darned ROPS canopy.
