Are Harbor Freight's bottle jacks worth having? Any recomendations on brands?

Thanks for the advice,
Matt

i use their stuff including jacks. but i put one of their 3 ton jacks in my f250. had a flat in the middle of no where a long way from home. and, you guessed it. it would not lift the truck. so the truck got an expensive bottle jack. who knows, it could have been made at the same place as the cheaper one.

We have a cheap 20 ton bottle jack that gets used all the time but its starting to leak a little oil after about five years. The best advice I can give is to buy a jack bigger than you need, they seem to over rate them I think.

I just used one of their 12 tons to pick up the front corner of my deuce and a half. Something my 3 ton garage jack wouldn't do. Won't catch me under there without stands, but I wouldn't with anybody's jack. The screw-out extension works fine.
