The original subject was "Chicago Electric Power Tools . are they any good?".

I purchased a 12" compound slide saw, made a few cuts with it and noticed they were not staright. Does any one else have this poblem.

I was at HF a while ago and played a little with the 10" model. I did not like it: rough pull and rather sloppy fit. And some part fell off while I was "testing" it. I don't know if they will return your $$ if you claim it's defective.

I checked out one of the HF sliding compound mitre saws over a year ago. Did not like them the linear bearings, they were rough and jittery, and looked like they would give a slightly rough cut from the bearing roughness.

I found another brand of Chinese sliding compound mitre saw at Big Lots for $69.99 and it works great, still happy after over a year of use.
