Somewhere I thought I saw porcelin gas sheilds for sale that claimed to be universal fit.My torch is a small local company called Tech,Tec,or Tek,maybe. The porcelin just pushes on to a taper and holds on there. Are all the tapers the same on all the torch brands or should I get the phone book and try to call the original manufacturer? Is this a commonized part? Thanks for the info.

Hi Dr S,

The more I thought about a push on cup the more I don't think thats a good design vs the standard screw on cup.

It's so very easy to run the torch at maximum amps thus would over heat the cup taper then the cup would fall off???

I don't know as I never used a torch with a slip on cup.

some cups will fit several brands. some brands have different cups for various models. i would suggest taking yours to a well stocked welding suppy co. if they dont have one, they probly have a book to mach up by measurement. if your near lexington ky, go to scott-gross co. i usually purchace in a box of 10 or 12 and its a little cheaper.
