Hello,

I am in the process of restoring a windmill head to erect on my grandfathers' property where one used to stand. I have an 8 ft. Aermotor wheel and I am looking for an original 4 legged Aermotor tower. I will need one either 33ft. or 40ft. tall. Does anyone know of one for sale? I am located in central Indiana so the closer the better for me. I know that new towers are available but would rather have an original tower to refurbish to go with my original wheel. Thanks for any information.

I have an original Aermotor tower. If you have not located one as of yet email me back and I'll send you photos. Located in Northern Texas.

Try the links on

If nothing else, they may have the manual for your windmill.

kpowl, There are many old towers around, you just need to hit the road and ask around. Or seek out a local company that specializes in windmill repair/restoration. There is a company in San Angelo, Texas I deal with that is surenough good... Topper Inc.! Try them if you don't do any good localy, but the hauling will eat up any saving you may get by buying here in Texas.
As far as the Argentina made Aermotors, their quality has suffered in the last few years! ....Windengine mills are a better made, a better choice. Hope this helps.
Later,
John A.

The old Aermotor equipment is still produced new in Argentina.

Here is the US company. I understood that they only produced "new and improved" windmills and that the old style stuff was made in Argentina, I could be mistaken.

Here is a dealer selling both the American made products from the company above, and the Argentine made equipment.

just put mine up last summer. Best bet is for you to drive around your area and keep an eye peeled and dont be afraid to ask around the locals , the old timers are a great source to talk to ,and will have great knowledge of such things.
when we put up my 40 footer we had a kind of event, had my old friends over and made a little bit of history out of it plix
