Ordered a Grizzly 4" X 36" benchtop belt sander. They have a 30-day return policy. 45 days after I got it, the screw that retains one of the drive sprockets came out and chewed up the belt. On close examination, I see that the motor shaft is bent too. Keeping the belt in alignment is a *itch. Grizzly is supposed to send me a new belt, but I foresee a continual series of problems with this sander.

Anybody want to buy it cheap?

Most power tools are made overseas even in the same factories(yes Delta too) there are just different grades of quality, I guess you get what you pay for. So don't blame it on a nationality. Sorry you had problems be persistent with the company hope it works out.

Typical chinese stuff, same as harbor freight, etc. Seems to be a big lack of quality control. I've bought HF stuff that's held up as well as any name brand, and stuff that was junk from day one. I guess you pays your money & takes your chances.

The Chinese, because of their cheap labour, are now the manufacturing centre for most of the world and, I presume, make these machines to specifications submitted by overseas companies, because they can make a better profit.

Didn't a big chain store screw their supplier and when supplier said he couldn't make item for the price, was told if he wanted to do business he had better move his operations to China.
Read it somewhere.
