Hey guys...I've been using the Form-a-gasket stuff for about 15 years as well....I guess I never looked at the name on the tube or package..I always use the non-hardening....but I wonder if the hardening type would be better when used to fill air gaps in 3-part junctions where the gaskets don't fill all voids. What do you guys think....

Also...they stopped making my favorite bolt prep...felpro GRA2...this stuff was grey and was a sealer antiseize all in one...the stuff was great.

I use the non-hardening part# 2C myself. It sets up enough to not slide out like silicone but does not glue the parts together. As long as you let it set up before installing the parts, you should have no problem.

I think the stuff I always use is 2B which stays soft. I think the 2C is pliable but not soft. The #1 is hardening? I should probably go with something that is pliable....eg the 2C.

I also have a tube of Permatex Tack and Seal. It is white and can be used on bolts and gaskets. I don;t know if they make it anymore...it seems to be a lot like form-a-gasket but is white.

Never used the tack seal so I can't help you on that one. As for the other one, I'd go with the 2C if you could so you have the little bit hared set up to it for the application you described.
