A while back I saw a listing somewhere for an electrical tester that could locate broken wires or shorts in automotive systems, the price seemed pretty cheap. Now I can't remember where I saw it and can't find anything like it. Was I dreaming?

Thanks everybody. It was probably the Northern Tool unit I saw, but I'll look them all over

I have a tool called a Power Probe, I bought of the Matco Tool truck. That thing has saved me many hours of frustration.

Harbor Freight did sell a type of tester, that you are referring to. It was around $20.00. Don't know if they still have them. HTH

The one HF has does not mention automotive use, only phone, computer, audio, etc. cables. Catalogs for $17.
