i have a massey harris manual chopping mechanism of some sort. it has a manual crank that turns a wheel with two blades on it. you feed whatever through the wooden trough. i dont know what its called and i would love to restore it.

I think..It would be a chaff cutter,put the sheafs of hay in the chute turn the wheel ,feed it through. oats, wheat , fingers, anything like that.

Could be a beet pulper....at one time a lot of farmers grew beets and chopped a bushel or so every day to add to the winter feed of cattle.

If it is small: Either a cabage cutter-for sour kraut, or and apple cutter-to squeze cider. More likly being MH, and if it is large it is a silage (corn) cutter. Picture???
