I need help putting a compresser together

A friend of mine gave me a compresser. the motor and pump won't work. I put a 5 hp b\s motor with a cast iron oil pump. I connected the copper lines coming out of the tank to the pump. my friend said it needed parts but i have no clue as to what other parts i need. and where do the other parts i need go. i would appreciate any help i can get

I agree with Mark on this one You are messing with compressed air and it can make bad things happen.

Engine drives are not easy to assemble especially if you have no experience with these. They require special unloaders and throttle controls to work properly. In addition to this, you need full flow pressure relief safety valves on the tank and between the stages if it's a two stage or you run the risk of serious damage to the unit and or anyone near it.

Best advice I can give you is to either have it properly assembled and repaired by a professional compressor shop or save yourself the problems and buy a new one.
