anyone know of a woodstove that has an ashpan that is wider and longer than the firebox. the ashpan on my ashley puts some ashes on the outside of the ashpan making a messy cleanup. and no, i`m not ready for an outside furnace yet.

Hearthstone. They make the finest woodstove I have ever used, and it has a full ashpan. The stove is covered with thick soapstone and holds heat for hours. They are expensive, but worth every penny. Heavy cast iron, baked enamel, glass front, front or side loading, and very attractive. I bought one 8 years ago and liked it so much I bought another for a different house.

I made up some "wings" that direct the ashes into the ashpan..I took the grates out and tack welded the wings in..Works sweet..I had them bent past 90 degrees so it wouldn't hang up..The pan just clears the "wings"....
