OT 2005 ford diesel

Sales people are telling me that my truck has 100K mile warranty on engine but only 3 years on transmission. Is this true or are they selling me a pig in a poke warranty? I assumed 100K was drivetrain or is that only Dodge? Thanks for any info. Also is 3 year warranty date of purchase or date of manufacture since they are different?

If you have a 2005 ford with the 6.0 Diesel you have a 100,000 mile/5year warranty on the motor and transmission from the date of sale. It's 3 years on other parts such as your axles and body, electrical etc. It's 1 year or 12,000 miles on clutches, brakes and I believe glow plugs. Hope this helps.

They extended the engine warranty out to 100K because of all the problems they have had with them. The rest of the drivetrain is 3 years.This was how it was explained to me by Ford dealer.
