That's bigger than your average engine drive weld/gen. You should not expect to make a killing on it simply because of its age. It will be difficult or impossible to get parts for and will not likely bring a good return on the investment. I would say the best way to get the most out of it would be to get it to an auction. People seem to go nuts on prices when they are bidding and will often pay much more for something that it is really worth. On the other hand, you may get someone who really needs or wants it and will give you a decent dollar for it outright. I'm not very familiar with the exact machine you have but from what you said about the outputs and the condition, I would say a reasonable figure should be around $800 ( once again, only because of the age) I would start out asking at least $1250 because of the capabilities and good condition and come down some if you get an interested party. I just bought a newer Bobcat 225G, 225 amp ac/dc w/ 8Kw 120/240 1ph generator, 907 hours on an Onan preformer 16hp engine for $450. This one is still considered a current model but the price reflects the hours on it and some physical damage to the outer housing. It's very hard to give anyone a selling price for something without knowing the going rate for the specific item in the local area and the actual condition and visual aspects of the machine. If this one looks like it came off the show room floor, you may get a much higher price for it than I have guessed at. A new machine with similar power output specs, 400 amp welding output and a Deutz diesel is going for around $10,000 in my area. The engine adds a lot to the new price and I don't have an idea of what a gas drive is going for new or if they are even available in this size machine anymore. Hope some of this helps a bit.
