OT: Fuel injector cleaner

I usually add a bottle of cheap fuel injector cleaner with the first fill-up each month in both of my gasoline powered vehicles. I also try to remember to use a more powerful fuel system cleaner once a year, but I've never known if I was actually buying a good one. If I believed that I could get what I payed for, I'd just buy the most expensive product available, but I stopped believing that life was so simple about the same time I figured out that Santa wasn't real (age 19.)

I would appreciate some informed guidance on the matter.

I've never run injector cleaner in my truck (240K miles) and had no problems. Figure I've run somewhere in the neighborhood of 2,000 gallons of gas thru each injector. On the other hand, my wife's car ended up with a clogged injector after only about 60K miles.

I have trouble with injectors bringing up trouble codes on my GMC Van. I've used Sea Foam and it helps, but Lucas seems to work for a longer time.

Here is my 2 cents worth but it works great for me. I use Marvel Mystery Oil in everything from my lawn mowers,pickup and tractors. Its the best stuff ive found and has been around for years. Lester

I found that injector cleaner is mix of alcohol and diesel fuel.I mix my own,50/50.Most states run blended fuel now, 40 at last count so a little diesel fuel is all you need.

SeaFoam works for a couple people I know, if they don't use it a couple months they have hesitation and some general poor perfomance. I use it occasionaly - 1st of season in motorcycles, after a vehicle has sat a couple months. Chevron injector cleaner- mechanic strengt, sometimes available at Standard stations and Napa can work on half clogged systems. RN
