I have a question about plastic water tanks. Came home with wagon and 1500 gallon tank ( wagon is an old tomato box on old truck running gear) Full of water. Started my turn into the drive way, heard a funny noise and see the wagon staring to make a sickly slow roll. The wagon box and my tank hit the drive way.The wagon s tongue and front axle were following me and the tractor. The tank looks like a crumpled paper bag. I righted the tank and filled it with water ...Will the water and sun help push the plastic back into place? Is there some other way to salvage it? No holes or real sharp creases. It is domed top model. The reason the wagon flipped the was because of poor welding. Cold weld on the metal used to retain the king pin to the bolster. My wife and children had just helped me unloaded 250 bales of hay from the wagon not an hour before. I thank God I was not, nor any one else was injured

Well I figured what have I got to lose. I filled the tank part way last night and finished filling it in the AM. I wish I had a before and after picture. The weight of the water (and the sun I guess)have pushed the tank back out so well it is hard to believe its the same one. With the luck I have had this week ( Punctured drive tire on my 140 Hp MF, Injector pump leak, drought and now Chinese aphids in my soys. The tank was icing on the cake. Thank you all for you response

Those tanks are blow molded. It ain't ever gonna get hot enough to go back into shape with water in it, sort of like trying to solder a pipe full of water.
Set it in the sun, and hook it up to the discharge of a vacum cleaner when it gets hot. Worst case, paint it black, then apply a low pressure source of compressed air.

Fill it with air. Stay clear in case it blows. Just a quick thought.

1500 gallons of water is 6 tons!! does the tank have any internal baffles to slow down the movement of the water while turning?? Thats a lot of momentum.as far as the tank returning to normal shape your guess is as good as mine, I think it would depend on the type and thickness of the poly and the shape of the tank. Those tanks are designed to be strong enough to support the static weight of the water so I doubt the water will force it back into shape
