the wife informs me she wants a barn for her 5 horses. a pole barn probably around 36x48 would do. thinking about three 12x12 stalls down each side with 12ft left over on each side for hay/feed or whatever else she needs.can anyone give me a ballpark number what something like this would cost i will most likely have it built by a contractor and i will build the stalls. thanks RICK

Another thought..Before I had the cleary built I bought one of these horse pull around sheds. 12' x 40' built on 8" round tube skids with 2.5 square steel for the building part. I can pull this sucker with my 3/4 truck or tractor. I put dividers in mine with gates on the front so gives me 4-10x12 stalls. AND you dont pay taxes on a pull around itleast where I live. Those go for about 3700 now. I figured on buying a second exact ly the same and face them witha breeze way between. You can get 6 smaller trusses and put a roof over the middle and have a nice building. my 2 cents.

I built my 42' x 63' cleary with 12 ' floor to truse high with wo 6 foot sliding doors (12 foot opening) and two 36" walk in doors one in the front and back with bubble wrap in the cealing so the condensation dont drip on the equipment. 4 years ago ai paid 14,000. I saw this same building 16,000 plus now.

Put in a pull thru and a place for feed.. tractor storage is a bonus. ( pull thru for unloading during rain is a bonus.. (btdt ) )

Have to add room for the tractor to pull the manure spreader so that will be 2 more bays plus with 5 horses figure ten ton hay storage better build it bigger so when she gets out of horses you got lots of room for more stuff

we have 2 other barns for hay storage and all the other things. im just making this no bigger than i have to to keep the price down.

Best to ask the contractor. Morton, Cleary, etc would likely charge about $20000+. Closest I can come to that is a 30x60 shop, 2 sliding doors one walk-in door, 2 windows, $17000 in 2000, without concrete. A similar building in 2007 cost $34900 with concrete and insulated roof. The shell (not priced separately) would have cost about $25000. Yours is 1728 sq ft, mine 1800. Probably do it cheaper with a "less major" company, or your contractor might stick build it.

Don't know the cost but I am thinking that you are not planning for enough space for hay, tack feed and everything else.
