Poulan vs Poulan Pro

What is the difference between Poulan and Poulan Pro chainsaw equipment?

I have never owned a Poulan product, but I found a Poulan Pro pole pruner, model PP446T that is on close-out at a local store for about $179. It will see occasional use trimming back orchard and road side tree branches.

Soooo, do the "Pro" models offer something that makes them more desirable? Anyone used the above pruner?

Thanks!
Bill

Yepper that was the difference on my Poulan Pro chain saw vs the regular poulan. However the newer poulans are not the same saw I bought 5 years ago...
Not sure whether they are better or worse.
I am well pleased with my Poulan Por Chain Saw.
I cut up about 20 pickup loads of wood a year.

I have a poulan pro pole saw. It is ok except for being a cold natured 2 stroke with no carb adjustments , it is all fixed jet.
Takes about 15 min of running to warm up to use.

First, that is not really a close out price, they sell normally for $179.95 around here. The Poulan Pro is a good unit for the money. If you are not going to be putting a lot of hours on it, it will make you a good unit. The main differance is the iso mounts. but, they also have a little better engine.

I have not used the pole pruner but the chainsaws themselves are much more user friendly in the pro models cause they have antivibration mounts on the handles and just overall a better built saw. I have an old green poulan I don't use anymore cause it vibrates the heck out of me. I have been happy with the pro model I have used but still wouldn't trade it for my stihl though.
