OK - I've been posting about my 30 year old Stihl 028 that puked. I picked up my new Dolmar PS 5100S yesterday. I didn't get to play till this afternoon.

I started this morning out when SWMBO "found" the rubber ball "the Monster" lost last night. He's a 10 month old "Boston Terriorist"....so after carrying the commode out to my shop I was finally able to BLOW the ball out by turning the sucker up side down, adding water & compressed air. I tried 4 different drain snakes - none would go through the maze to push the ball out.
It was during that time that I figured out that the new water line going to the shop was hot water. I just got the laundry room changed over yesterday.....everything is fixed now - and that ball is history! I'm sure everyone here has had days like this!

OK - back to the saw - that puppy don't EVEN back down! I think my old 028 woulda been PROUD of it's replacement! I've only run 1 tank of gas through it but I'm satisfied! If any of you ever have to go shopping for a chainsaw, you need to look at Dolmar. This is basically the same size as my 028 - 18" bar with 3/8" chain but the Dalmar cranks up to 14,500 where the Stihls go to 12,500. That extra 2k rpms makes a difference in cutting time! Seems like it gets better "mileage" than the 028, too. Makes sense - being 30 years newer.

And THANKS to JT from this board! That's Jim Thompson of Prairieland Mower who steered me towards Dalmar!

Hey Bud, Glad to hear you got to use your new saw and like it. I have been selling Dolmar for about 3 years, not had one bad thing about them. They have lived up to what the salesman told me when I took them on. Just keep using good 2 cycle oil, use good quality gasoline, you will get good life out of it and you will like it more everytime you use it.
Jim
