This saw starts well when cold. When it gets warm to hot it starts loosing power & shuts down. Fuel is not a problem. The spark, however, is another issue. If I crank it easy, it will not fire the plug. If I pull hard & spin the motor really fast, it will fire a blue steady arc. I have changed plugs, doesn't help. Any ideas?

How old is the saw? Had one that did the same thing, started fine and ran until it got warm or hot as you say. Had the fuel line replaced and it took care of the problem.

I would check to see that the coil has got the correct gap from the flywheel. Make sure the bolts have not loosened and the coil has worked itself away from from the flywheel. If all is well with the gap and the coil was tight, I would say its time for a new coil. Just my 2 cents.

It might be the an arrestor plate (or something), the place I bought mine from took it off for me 10 years ago when I bought my 029 farm boss. This might be the problem.
